Acute Injuries:

  

Fracture: A fracture is a broken bone and these are categorised into to which are open and closed fractures.
Dislocations: This is when 2 bones become separated this causes intensive pain.
Strains: A strain occurs when a muscle or a tendon is over stretched.
Grazes: A graze is when the rubbing of the skin which causes this to be a raw tender area.
Bruising: A bruise occurs when the skin is banged and this causes a tiny blood vessel to break which makes a purple bruise.
Concussion: Concussion is a brain injury which is caused by a blow to the skull. This will cause unconsciousness for a while.
Spinal Injuries: The spinal cord is damaged which may cause you to be paralysed, these occur after you get a blow to the back.
Blisters: Blisters are when a bit of soft skin is rubbed. A blister is a sack of liquid underneath the skin.

Overuse Injuries:

Tendonitis- The tendon becomes inflamed by lots of pressure put on it. Then the tendon will become painful and very uncomfortable.
Shin Splints-These are tiny fractures in the middle of the tibia which  cause pain and alot of swelling. Shin slits are common in running sports.
